KODAMA wins IIDA "Best Outdoor Group Seating"

It surely was a great moment. Our first year at the Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas was filled with tons of great moments, smiles, new friends, and laughs.  Winning this award, against many other fantastic entries was truly the icing on the cake. Kodama is proud to announce that it has been named a winner of the IIDA/HD Product Design Competition in the Outdoor Group Seating Category for the Kodama Zome Hanging Lounger. This annual competition, sponsored by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and in partnership with Hospitality Design magazine, honors innovation, functionality, and aesthetic advancements in product design for hospitality industry

“This year’s winners exemplified cutting-edge product design innovation with an eye toward form and function,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “Design is key to elevating hospitality spaces and the visionary designs we saw this year will help to craft custom and memorable hospitality experiences.”

Products were evaluated by a panel of distinguished jurors that included: Christopher Evans, associate principal, Rottet Studio; Kelie Mayfield, IIDA, principal, Mayfield and Ragni Studio; and Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, senior principal/director of interior design, Antunovich Associates.

The competition was open to exhibitors at the 2017 HD Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Winners were announced and celebrated during the conference, and the winning products will be featured on the IIDA website, on IIDA social media to more than 300,000 followers, and in Hospitality Design magazine.
